CHEMSPEC, LTD. Successfully Passes Responsible Distribution Verification, Sustaining Commitment to Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental Performance

Uniontown, OH – ChemSpec Ltd.  announced that it has successfully passed its NACD Responsible Distribution® verification for the current three-year cycle, reaffirming the company’s commitment to the health, safety, and security of its employees, community, and the environment. Responsible Distribution is the National Association of Chemical Distributor’s (NACD) third-party verified environmental, health, safety, and security program that allows members to demonstrate their pledge to continuous performance improvement in every phase of chemical storage, handling, transportation, and disposal.

“Responsible Distribution is critical to the chemical distribution industry’s ability to safely deliver more than 30 million tons of product every year,” said NACD President and CEO Eric R. Byer. “Through their successful verification, ChemSpec, Ltd. and its senior leadership have committed to continuous improvement in the responsible management and handling of chemicals that ensures NACD members effectively support the industries America relies on most, such as agriculture, healthcare, oil and gas, manufacturing equipment, and many others.”

The Responsible Distribution program requires third-party verification of facilities against a set of guiding principles, including strict adherence to widely accepted industry and business practices and participation with interested entities in creating responsible laws, regulations, and systems to help safeguard our communities, workplaces, and environment.

Participation in Responsible Distribution has significant benefits, including education and training in health, safety, security, and environmental performance; better documentation of company policies; improved communication with local communities; reduced audit time and costs; and increased credibility.

Christopher Wagner, ChemSpec’s COO & Law Director, had this to say about the recent verification: “We are very proud of the effort our entire team puts into Responsible Distribution, and in particular our Quality & Regulatory Department, who spends several months preparing for the audit. Sustainability is a core principle at ChemSpec and at our parent company, Safic-Alcan Groupe. We remain excited to continue more fully embracing NACD’s guiding principles on the journey to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.

Our Cosmetics Division had a successful couple days in New York for NYSCC Supplier’s Day. Marie, Marx, and Jacquelyn had the opportunity to visit with many familiar faces as well as meet quite a few new ones during the show. One of our partners, Seqens Cosmetics Natural Ingredients, was able to join us for the show and Darcy was a great additional resource to have with us. We also were delighted that many of our partners were able be at Supplier’s Day as well including Activon, CosmAct, Jojoba Desert, and SurfactGreen; all having booths of their own. Coming out of Supplier’s Day, we have been able to meet with many of the connections made during the event and we are looking to build relationships that will last many years to come.

It will be a busy summer ahead for the Cosmetics team including World of Wipes in June, Cosmoprof North America in July, and two to three digital events before Summer’s end.
